the traditional Fête du Mimosa Mimosa Festival

In 2011, the traditional Fête du Mimosa [Mimosa Festival] "is going green" from 18 to 27 February in Mandelieu-La-Napoule (The French Riviera).

The Mimosa Festival in Mandelieu-La Napoule exclusively uses mimosa grown in local forcing houses. Every year 12 tons of mimosa are required to decorate the floats with flowers and for the flower battles.

The programme of festivities:

organised for the 2nd year in cooperation with the Miss France Committee, the Election of the Mimosa Queen] and her runner-ups is one of the highlights of the local tradition. Visitors will be able to see them throughout the festival in the procession of floral floats.

At 6 pm: the Parade nocturne (evening parade) in the town centre.
The procession of floral floats will parade in front of the public and will bring the streets of the town to life from the Place de Capitou to the Place Esterl Gallery around 7.30 pm, where a variety of entertainment will take place allowing the celebration to continue.

  • Sunday 20 February
at 2.30 pm: the Grand Corso fleuri (Great Procession of Floral Floats)  in the Port of La Napoul.
The floats will be entirely decorated in mimosa and will parade to the sound of brass bands and the rhythm of percussions for almost two hours.
